There is a brave soul...

Anna was finally held by a male today...her uncle Justin! So far no one of the male gender has been brave enough to hold her. Yes, not even her father. So today my youngest brother Justin and my mom came to see her and he held her for about 20 minutes. She loved it! I kept having to silence her oxygen saturation alarm...but only because it was too high!Since we finally named her, Anna's night nurse Tally made us this cute sign with her hand and foot prints. Look at those long feet! She is doing very well. She is up to 14 cc every 3 hours on her feedings (almost half an ounce) and they turned her oxygen down to 1/2 liter. She is making progress every day! I am hoping they are going to let her breastfeed soon. That is, if my milk ever comes in. I did do some kangaroo care last night (holding her skin to skin, which helps to prepare for breastfeeding). Here is my little peanut being held by her grandma Laurie with a half smile on her face! So cute! Do you ever wonder what is going through their little brains?Three generations! My mom Laurie, me and Anna.Sorry about all of the pictures...what can I say? I am a proud mama! I think they are going to discharge me tomorrow. My blood pressures have been slightly high still, but so far I have not had to restart labetolol. I have bittersweet feelings about going home. It will be nice to finally get out of this hospital, but it has been my security blanket for the last 5 weeks, keeping me and baby as healthy as possible. It also means that I have to leave Anna here. I know they will take good care of her, but it will still be very hard to leave knowing I can't take her with me right away.

She is so cute!! You are a great mom Jami, I can see it in your face!! She is just so lucky, I am so happy she is getting stronger everyday!! Don't ever apologize for all the pictures! Isn't that what we are supposed to do as mommies, besides on her first birthday, you will look back on your blog and be happy you had all these posts.... so keep them coming...

Congratulations. It's wonderful to see all these pictures. Glad to hear she's getting healthier and better each day. My baby and I spent some extra time in the hospital too and I think because of that, there is an extra special bond between us. You look happy and so does the baby, that's the most important thing.

What joy - she is precious. I'm so glad Laurie linked us to your blog - it's fun to read about your 'adventure' the last few months. I'm so grateful it turned out well. I especially enjoyed reading all the nursing terms in your posts. Lucky little Anna to have you for a mom.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I had heard you were pregnant and never heard if you had your little one. She is so cute. I came across your blog in a round about way. I love all the pictures. Maybe when Troy and I come into town again we can stop by and I can see that little angel in person.
Congrats again.
