Ambien is my friend!

Monday night I didn't sleep well at all, so Tuesday the resident ordered Ambien (a sleeping pill) for me. I have taken it the last 2 nights...and it is my new best friend! Where has that drug been for my whole hospital stay? I slept great the last 2 nights. Last night was exciting because I got to see my puppies! My brother and sis-in-law brought them up to the hospital and took me on a wheelchair ride outside to see them. It has been over 2 weeks since I last saw them, and this time they were more excited to see me (they were mad at me last time). I have missed them so much!

They are talking again about sending me home tomorrow or Saturday. Now that I am safely at 33 weeks, I was told that I am one for the record books...they kept joking that they want to publish an article about me. Usually patients with preeclampsia either have symptoms, elevated blood pressures despite medication, or funky lab values within 1-2 weeks of being admitted. I have had none of the above for 4 weeks. I am happy to be the exception! Both my OB and the perinatology team feel comfortable sending me home. I feel better about it than I did a few weeks ago when they first mentioned going home. For one thing, I'm sick of being here. I really miss my husband, my home, and my puppies. For another, Trav will be home from Reno tomorrow. He still has to go to Vegas for work on Sunday, but it is only a 24 hour trip and my mom will come and stay with me during that time. From then on out, he will be working locally during the day. I will still come in twice a week for NST's, lab work, and visits to my OB, so I will need someone to drive me to my appointments, but I have had a lot of support from friends and family, so hopefully it will not be a problem. I will monitor my blood pressures closely from home, and for consistent blood pressures over 160/100 I will be admitted to deliver this little peanut. So I guess we will see how it goes. I will update once I get home, or if anything changes. Thanks so much for checking in, and for all of the support!

Hey Jami!
33 Weeks, you are doing great! I am very happy to hear you are the exception to the rule.
If you do go home, I am happy to get you to and from some appointments if needed. Just call me!

you are a wonder. It is so nice that you have written a history of this experience for you daughter to read about how she got here. Take care at home and no holding of boards!! We are cheering you on.
