A week of "firsts"

It has been a while since I have posted...I have to update all of the "firsts" that Anna has accomplished in the past week and a half!

First baby food - sweet potatoes! So Anna is not crazy about rice cereal, but she was very interested in the spoon. So I have tried giving her sweet potatoes a few times, and she LOVES them! Here are a few cute sweet potato mug shots.
First time rolling over! Anna found a way out of the dreaded "tummy time". She rolls over! The moment you place her on her tummy, she immediately rolls to her back. She started that about a week ago but so far she can't quite figure out how to roll back onto her tummy. I don't think she is trying very hard, though...she usually despises being on her belly. Now to get her to stay on her belly I have to use the boppy.
First time sucking her thumb. Yes, it's true. Much to Briana's dismay, my baby girl has found her thumb. As she is not much of a binky girl, I don't have much to substitute the thumb with...I guess we will deal with it later. The first time she put herself to sleep with her thumb was pretty cute, though...
First Valentine's Day! Anna got this cute outfit from her grandma Laurie, another cute outfit from grandma Joyce, and a Valentine's day balloon from grandpa Mike (that she loved!). And last (unfortunately), her first cold. I have been taking care of RSV kids at work for the last 5 shifts straight, and I came down with a horrible cold last week. I haven't been that sick in quite a while. Despite my best efforts to keep my daughter from getting it, Anna now has a runny nose. I'm pretty sure it will get worse before it gets better. Luckily I seem to be on the tail end of mine so I can take better care of her. She is pretty happy still, so I know she doesn't feel as crappy as I did. Let's hope it stays that way! A huge thanks to my mom for taking such great care of Anna and I this past weekend...love you!

Anna is getting soo big! Love all the pics. That pic of her sucking her thumb is soo cute! Sorry you were sick....that stinks! One of the bad parts to our job! If Anna is really congested...go buy a battery powered nasal aspirator (bebe sounds brand) from babies-r-us. They are great(if you have it set up right). They aren't as good as the suction we have at work...but miles ahead of those worthless blue bulbs! It is about $20 and well worth it. It saves me during Kates colds.
