OUCH!!

My blood pressure has still been high, about 140's over 90's. It has been high enough that my doctor is concerned that I may have to deliver early. I realized that despite all of the stress and emotional turmoil I had gone through the other day when I was put on bedrest, the fact that I might have a preemie had really escaped my attention. I thought I would just be miserable and bored and wait it out until she was full term. When Dr. Gravelle mentioned that I may have to deliver early, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Worry, stress, anxiety...none of which do wonders for one's blood pressure.

So...I had to go in yesterday and today to my doctor's office for betamethasone shots. Betamethasone is a steroid that helps develop the baby's lungs so that if I do have to deliver early, hopefully she will breathe a little better. Can I just say OUCH?! (And I was so excited not to need Rhogam...) The needle was nothing, but the medication stings like a mother. More things that they don't mention in that pregnancy book.

Other than that, I am just hanging out, laying here in my recliner, trying to think of things to keep me occupied. Day by day...

I go in Monday for a growth ultrasound and then Tuesday for my appointment with my OB. Hopefully everything will stay the same between now and then. I will keep you posted! Thanks for all of the well wishes and offers to help. They are greatly appreciated!!
