30 weeks today!

Well, we made it to 30 weeks! I am still hanging out on the maternity floor. My blood pressures have been trending up slightly. Dr. Esplin did not want to increase my labetolol this morning because he didn't want to mask it if my body was getting sicker. So we will continue to trend my blood pressures and check labs tomorrow morning. Then we will reevaluate whether to increase the labetolol or not.

The NICU sent one of their nurse practitioners to talk to me tonight, to help prepare me for what will happen when my daughter is born. To my surprise, I knew him. He works at Primary's as well...in fact, I found out today that the neonatologists and the nurse practitioners that will be caring for my daughter here at IMC are the same neonatologists and NP's that work in the NICU at PCMC. That made me feel better, knowing that I may recognize and respect some of the faces in the NICU here. He let me know of what screening tests she will go through and what I can expect as far as her prematurity. We will obviously have to wait and see how she does, but he explained all of the stuff that I already know is a risk for her (head bleeds, respiratory compromise, apnea, sepsis, hypoglycemia, feeding issues, etc.). All I can do is hope for a strong and feisty little one!

Jami!
What!?! You are not supposed to be the patient! All I have to say is don't let your knowledge get the best of you! You saw the worst sick preemies in the region! I know that everything will be alright! If she is anything like you, she will be one tough little cookie!

Like I said before, we are praying for your family here! Waiting and being patient is the worst though, it is hard to sit around not knowing what to do! Keep us posted! I want to come see this sweet little girlie when she is born!
Love,
Amber
