Today Anna and I were out running errands. I needed to go to the Apple Store, so we also made a visit to the mall. We browsed through H&M, Gymboree, Build-A-Bear, just window shopping since I have absolutely no extra money right now. Anna was amazed at the variety of stores. I don't think she has been inside a mall for about 2 years. I remember my days of being single when I used to love a good shopping spree to the Buckle, but let's face it...as a working mother with multiple mortgages, I do a lot more of my shopping at Target these days. ;-)
Want to guess Anna's favorite store?
Nope, not Gymboree with the TV programs running and the cute child size chairs.
Not even Build-A-Bear, with the adorable little teddy bear outfits.
Her favorite?
NORDSTROM.
Forget the saying "like a kid in a candy store"...Nordstrom doesn't sell candy. As soon as we walked into Nordies, Anna's eyes tripled in size, awestruck. She wanted to try on all of the pretty dresses (in the women's section), play with all of the jewelry, look at all of the makeup and purses, and, of course, try on every pair of shoes in the little girl's section. I think I am in trouble with this little girl and her expensive taste!
We literally spent about an hour in the shoe section, She had a bunch of other customers laughing as she tried on the "best dancing shoes" and danced around the store, oblivious to the onlookers (which is so unusual for Anna). The best, though, was when Anna was done trying on shoes. I thought she would throw an absolute fit when told that we were not purchasing any of the coveted footwear, but instead she fixed and lined up every single shoe, making them presentable for the next little girl to admire. I have to admit, she did an awesome job. The sales girls were ready to hire her!
P.S. Glad to know my daughter still likes to line up shoes...remember this post from almost 2 years ago? Anna wasn't even 2 years old yet. Scroll down halfway through the post. You will see the shoe pic. Maybe she's destined to work in shoe retail!
From now on I know how to wear my daughter out. She was begging to go to bed around 9:00 and crashed the moment she hit the pillow. Living out a shopping dream is hard work!
You crack me up, miss Anna.

She is so stinking adorable! "Does the shoe mess look better?" I mean, seriously, how freaking cute is that! Can't wait to see her again!
