This summer has been a whirlwind, and I really can't believe that it's over. I have so many posts that I want to catch up on! Give me a few weeks. After Anna's birthday celebration and my brother's wedding, I may have a little more time to catch up.
But for now...
I have a preschooler.
Seriously??
How did this happen?
Anna started at Jacque's Preschool a few weeks ago. There were no tears shed...on her end. I, however, was a mess. I cried the whole way home after dropping her off. I can't believe that my tiny little baby is already old enough to go to school! Now starts the worry about what she is doing while she is away from me, what they are teaching her, how she is being treated, who her friends are, does she even have friends...the list goes on and on in my brain!
Anna goes to school 2 days a week, and she loves it! She is learning all about safety this month. She got to meet a firefighter and tour a real firetruck, which so far has been the highlight of her preschool days. The school is really cute, and all 3 of her teachers are wonderful. They always sing songs, do a cute little craft, and send home her drawings of the shapes and numbers they are working on. She was pretty quiet about preschool the first few days, but she is starting to talk about it more and more as it becomes more comfortable for her.
As hard as it is to let go (even just for a few hours!), I really am excited for Anna to enter this new phase in her life. My hope that the preschool will help instill further confidence and independence in Anna, as well as some much-needed social skills for my little introvert. ;-)
