A Wedding Dance

I love weddings! I think in my next life I will be a wedding planner. I love it all...the dress, the locations, the flowers, the decorations, all of the details defining a memorable and momentous day in two people's lives. When my parents asked if I wanted to tag along to my second cousin Angie's wedding, I happily agreed, although Angie doesn't really know me from Adam. We have only seen each other a handful of times. She looked absolutely stunning! I wish I would have captured a picture of her dress.

The location of the wedding and reception is one that my mom and I checked out when planning my own wedding...Rose Sachs Garden, a beautiful relatively unknown treasure just up Parley's canyon. Even the rain that day couldn't dampen the beauty. Of course, my daughter happened to fall asleep in her car seat just as we arrived at Rose Sachs, so I sat out in the car with her while she slept and missed the ceremony. I didn't want to chance a cranky toddler screaming through a wedding! Fortunately, it also stopped raining when Anna woke up, so I was able to avoid getting drenched as well!

I think my daughter was a fan of the location. Endless natural stone stairways and pathways lead to beautiful waterfalls, and the views of Parleys canyon are amazing. (I have to admit that I was also reminded of why I didn't choose that particular venue for my own wedding. Sharp rocks + steep stairways + water + lots of children = pediatric nurse's worst nightmare! I would have been a worried bride!)

It was also great to see my dad's cousins...we see each other so rarely. Thanks for letting me tag along, Mom and Dad!

Anna with her Buppa
Loving her Buppa...
Anna had on her "dancer dress" and her "glass slippers"...so of course she had to find a stage to dance on! I had to sneak this video in, since she usually stops the minute I pull the camera out.
