Cookie Cutters

I have become increasingly frustrated with my daughter's hair lately. Her bangs are in her eyes, and although I have tried to trim them, I never seem to get them even. The poor thing still has very thin hair (I'm hoping it will thicken up as she gets older), but it has gotten too long in the back to scrunch it up into curls anymore. So essentially, she had a mullet of sorts.

Um, hello? A mullet might have been cute on my brother back in 1989, but not exactly on Anna in this decade. Come to think about it, maybe it was just J.J. that was cute...not the mullet.
(Yes, she is munching on a giant marshmallow. Have you seen those things? Her new favorite treat.)
I have heard rave reviews of this place called Cookie Cutters, a hair salon focused solely on kids. What an awesome idea! I decided to give them a try. I went into the appointment with a little hesitation of how Anna would do. She is a toddler, after all.

It was a huge success! First of all, what a cute place. Everything in there is bright and colorful. The first thing you see when you walk in the door is a large slide for the kids to play on. The child then chooses a movie to watch and picks out a car to "drive" during their haircut. The only problem was that Anna wanted to continue to play on the slide rather than sit in a car, so she threw a minor fit when we were strapping her in to the pink car. Stylist to the rescue! Out came a sucker and a few My Little Ponies, and we were good to go.
I was amazed! Between watching Elmo and the sucker, Anna held still while the stylist cut and blow dried her hair.
She didn't seem phased by the blow dryer...she even seemed to like it!

Almost done...the side view.
The back view after round brushing.
Add the Cookie Cutters signature pull through ponytail on top...
And a cute pink bow...
And we were all done! The stylist gave her a balloon and another sucker, then she was off to play on the slide again.
So cute!
The only bad thing about this place is that I doubt Anna will want to go anywhere else for a haircut now. Oh well...I guess $14 isn't too bad for all the bells and whistles...
