Being preoccupied with a newborn preemie last October (not to mention a dad that didn't dare hold her, let alone take care of her!), I missed my favorite dance production of the whole year - Odyssey Dance Theatre's THRILLER. For those of you who have never seen it, it is a combination of high caliber dance, zombies, mummies, skeletons, chainsaws, werewolves, and a few other Halloween favorites. I LOVE it!
I am making up for last year by going twice this year. I went last week to the show in Logan with my mom, a few of her friends, and Becka, a cute former patient of mine who is now a freshman at USU. Here is a pic of Becka and I (and a new little zombie friend!). We had such a good time, although I have to admit I am more excited to see the show in SLC this Saturday. The sets and lighting are far superior to the traveling production.

Anna and I stayed the night up in Logan. The next day, while my mom was at work, Anna and I took advantage of the crisp fall day and played outside for a while. While it is extremely difficult these days to capture her smiling and looking at the camera, I did get this cute shot in front of my mom's fall decor.

I did capture a short video of her walking (or rather, attempting to run). I was trying to wear her out (so that she would take a good nap) so we walked up and down the sidewalks of my parent's neighborhood.
She was worn out all right, but she refused to give in a take a nap that afternoon. I tried and tried to get her to relax and lay down, but she refused. My youngest brother came home from class at USU and started playing with her. When I walked back into the room about five minutes later, this was what I found...

Anna loves her uncle JJ!

At almost 13 months, Anna is so much fun right now. Her vocabulary has grown to include mama, daddy, Daisy, Yily (Lily), mo (more), shus (juice), and nana (banana). She loves all of her toys that she got for her birthday, but give her a makeup brush, a toothbrush, and my mom's long set of pearls and she is a happy girl. She is walking all over the place, and climbing on anything she can. She is into every cupboard, every drawer, and of course the dog food. I think she consumes more dog food than Lily does. She doesn't quite understand the concept of "no", or if she does, she chooses to ignore it. Just look at this face, though...how can you possibly get mad at her?

I can't believe how fast October is flying by. Next week will be Halloween and then it will be thoughts of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm not ready to give up fall for winter, and the thought of Christmas shopping makes me panic right now. All I can do is take it one day at a time...
