Happy Halloween!

After a crazy busy weekend, I am finally getting around to posting pictures of our Halloween adventures. Anna is so busy these days - it is getting harder and harder to capture good pictures of her. I really need one of those fancy DLR cameras with super fast shutter speeds...

That being said, I did get this cute picture of her somewhat smiling. I think my little pumpkin looked adorable! I had so much fun making her costume. I bought the cute tights and a hat to match at Gymboree, but she refused to keep the hat on. So I went with Mandy's suggestion and formed a pigtail into a "stem", sprayed her hair green, and put a few curly green ribbons in for fun.
Anna is getting better at trying to say things. She would point to the pumpkins and say "pupa".Another view of the green hair.
Telling me off...yes, my daughter has definitely found her attitude...
Practicing her trick or treating skills...
My cute friend Cindy had us over for a Halloween party at her house. She had a great spread of chili, mummy hot dogs, witch's brew complete with dry ice, pumpkin cookies, and a variety of sugar cookies decorated in Halloween shapes. I loved meeting up with all of my friends because I got to see all of the kids cute costumes! Here are the three babies. Evelynn was the cutest little bumble bee I had ever seen. Zander was a adorable as a skeleton (so cute with the mask on - and he left it on for most of the night!).
We had multiple attempts to get a group shot of all of the kids. I don't think I got a single great shot with all of the kids. The only one with Campbell is this one...and you only see her cute striped tights...This one was the best group shot, but we are missing Campbell the witch. Two bat girls, a batman, a bumble bee, a princess, a pumpkin, a skeleton, and a spiderman!
Here is our witch Campbell...with her witch's brew! Doesn't she look great?
After eating dinner, we took the kids and headed out trick or treating. My little pumpkin loved trick or treating...for about a minute. At the very first house we went to, Anna picked a sucker. She was happy as a clam with that sucker, but it was a blow pop and I didn't let her have it for very long. She threw an absolute fit when I took it away. It didn't matter that I tried to replace it with a more appropriate treat. She didn't care...she wanted the sucker! For the rest of the night, she was not a very nice child. I think she was punishing me. Every time I tried to get her out of the stroller to trick or treat, she would try to run away from me, so after about 5 houses, I strapped her in and did the trick or treating for her. It got cold fast after the sun went down that night, but she refused to keep her hat or gloves on. Her poor little hands were FREEZING after an hour of trick or treating.

Disclaimer: I shouldn't blame all of the crankiness on Anna. After working 2 nights in a row and only having 3 hours of sleep that morning, I have to admit that my patience was not top notch either. I guess I learned my lesson...don't attempt to take a sassy little one year old trick or treating when you are sleep deprived! I think that Anna was exhausted as well. After I drove home from Cindy's, this is what I found in the back seat...
All in all, I really did have a fun Halloween. The crankiness was short lived and once we got home we played and answered the door for trick or treaters for a few hours.

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!

Love it! The last picture is classic. I think you are amazing for even attempting to take Anna out trick or treating on no sleep. I am such a wimp. You rock!
