My little pumpkin

We celebrated Anna's 1st birthday on Sunday with a "little pumpkin" themed party. I had a very hectic and stressful week trying to get everything done. I really wish that I didn't stress out so much about every little minute detail. It is not like my one year old or any of the party guests truly care about the details, but that is what makes me me. (Hence the title of my blog!) In the end, everything turned out great. Now for the pictures (sorry so many...trust me, I whittled them down! If you would like to see more, click here for the facebook album).

The invitation front (stamps from Stampin' Up and Stamping Bella)

The inside of the inviteThe cute pumpkin outfit...tutu and all!I had 2 tables decorated with balloons (color coordinated, of course!) and pumpkin centerpieces.
The goodie bags I put together for the kids. The contents? A cute accordion pumpkin card complete with a sticker set so that the kids could put faces and leaves on the pumpkins, pumpkin bubbles, a pumpkin shaped sucker with a glow stick, and pumpkin shaped candy corns. The bows that I made to match Anna's outfit.Playing with her balloon and her puppy before the guests arrived.
Me and my little pumpkin!
Anna's beautiful friend Evelynn
Walking is coming more and more naturally to her now!The hostess (that's me!) standing in front of the buffet table.
Anna's favorite activity during the party involved climbing up and down the deck stairs with whoever would hold her hands.
Or beating rocks together with the other 3 babies...(yes, I realize she is half naked. When eating dinner, she puked all over her cute outfit. Thank heavens her pumpkin bibs came in a matching set, right?)Evelynn giving Anna her birthday kiss.I was slightly disappointed with the cupcakes I made, but they turned out all right. The recipe turned out really yummy (yellow cake mix, pumpkin, butterscotch pudding mix, etc.) and the pumpkin mold that I have produced darling little pumpkin cupcakes, but then I frosted them. I was going more for a glaze so that the pumpkin shape was not hidden. These turned out looking a little more like orange caramelled apples. Oh, well. Here is Anna's personal cake - my first attempt at decorating a birthday cake (might very well be my last!)Anna was more a fan of the candle at first...
but then she tasted the frosting!
After daintily dipping her fingers in the frosting and licking them off for a few minutes, she really dug into the cake! She wanted desperately for the whole top layer to come off. After a good scrubbing and a clean shirt, she was ready to play and open presents. Anna loves her daddy and her Buppa...and apparently her shoes!
Opening the sea of presents took some help from Parker, Maizy and Campbell. Anna did help me open her favorite gift of the night...a set of maracas from my brother Brandon and his cute girlfriend Maday. They were even bilingual!
Brandon and Maday flew in from Phoenix for Anna's birthday weekend. That meant so much to me! Love you both!Uncle JJ holding Anna, who would not let go of those maracas.
The fabulous 4 babies, once again being tortured with a photo moment. Evelynn, Anna, Brylee and Zander have now all turned 1!! Funny that the birthday girl is the only one without a sucker...mean mom...
Being the center of attention is exhausting. Anna fell asleep being held by my mom...but she still wouldn't let go of the maracas.
Spoiled much?? Holy cow! This is like one of those "where's waldo" pictures...Anna is in the photo. I could always leave a few things unopened and rewrap them for Christmas...she'll never know the difference!
Thanks to everyone who came out to support me and my little pumpkin! We had a great time and I think (at least I hope!) that everyone else did too.
