9 long days...

I have never been so happy to see a dirty diaper from Anna. No, let me clarify - a normal dirty diaper from Anna. Nothing made me happier than to see her bright red face and joker smile that she gets when she was doing her business today. ;-)

Let me explain. Anna caught her first gastro bug a while back and we have been dealing with complete blowouts from her (occasionally from both ends) for 9 days straight. Her daddy, her aunt, her grandma, and I were all privileged to get puked on and/or pooped on in the last week. Yes, even Travis...she pooped in her high chair...and I was at work and not there to clean up the mess. So he did the only logical thing in his mind and plopped Anna in the tub (still strapped to the high chair, of course). He then dumped water on her until she was clean enough and left me the high chair to disinfect when I got home from work. Lovely. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall that night...

Today she is back to normal. Thank god. Anna stayed really well hydrated with grape pedialyte (makes for interesting colored puke) but I think she was getting really tired of a BRAT diet. There is only so much you can take of saltines, applesauce, squished bananas and pedialyte. As for me, I was getting really tired of disinfecting my house, changing crib sheets, wiping the squished bananas off of my daughter, and the million loads of laundry. Here's to formed stool!
Also, here's to Triple Paste...still the best butt cream EVER! Not even a hint of a red spot on that cute little bum.

Sorry for the blunt nature of this post...I am a nurse, after all.
