What a weekend!

I took Anna in to the pediatrician for a weight check today...she weighs 7 pounds 2 ounces! That's almost 3 pounds that she has gained in her 5 1/2 weeks of life. Wow!! Her pediatrician felt she was doing great and he decreased her to 22 calorie formula instead of 24 calorie. It is still the preemie formula (she will be on that for 6 to 9 months) but at least I am using a tiny bit less of it.

We had a very busy and fun weekend. On Saturday my aunt and cousins hosted a baby shower for me. We didn't have a great turnout - there have been a lot of things going on with my family - but we still had a great time with a really yummy breakfast. Anna and I received some wonderful gifts, including the cute bedding set for Anna's crib, a space saver high chair, a monitor, and some adorable sweaters. Thanks, Nancy, Ashlie, and Randi for throwing me a shower! Love you guys! Here is Anna all dressed up for her first baby shower.
My mom came and stayed at my house Saturday night. Trav and I took advantage and went out on a date. We hadn't been on a date in a REALLY long time! We got dressed up and went to Tepanyaki. We didn't leave Anna for very long, but we did thoroughly enjoy ourselves with drinks, sushi, and dinner. Here is our first official "family picture" before our date. Trav actually posed! I was so proud!Saturday night my wonderful mom told me to go to bed and she would get up with Anna (the one advantage of not breastfeeding!) So I slept...next to my husband...in my own bed...for the first time since June. It was great! (Why June, you ask? For those of you who don't know, my bed is very tall and I am very short, so halfway through my pregnancy I couldn't even get on my bed. Once I recovered enough from my c-section to get up into my bed, Anna came home from the NICU. She sleeps upstairs and our bedroom is downstairs and I couldn't hear her, so I have been sleeping upstairs in the guest bed. Now I have a monitor...)

On Sunday my wonderful friends threw me a baby shower. We had a really good turnout! Mandy made me the cutest diaper cake and the cutest little nut cups shaped like booties...Anna and I were spoiled with lots of great gifts, including a Pack-n-Play, lots of cute clothes, and some beautiful blankets and burp cloths. All 4 of the babies were at the shower, so we took advantage and got some really cute pictures.
