Happy New Year!!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year! I had a great birthday/New Year's celebration. We had a party at our home with lots of friends and family. We deep fried a turkey, and had all of the snacks and beverages you could ask for.

I got lots of fun things for my birthday...perfume from my cute friend Cindy, a darling sweater from my mom-in-law, a book "My Sister's Keeper" from Tracie, and a few bottles of wine. The best gift?? Trav got me an iPod for my birthday!! Now, you have to understand that my husband is not the best gift giver in the world. When asked what we should get someone for Christmas/anniversaries/birthdays, etc., here is his reply:

"Get them a candle!!"

So when he gave me my present, it was wrapped in a large cardboard box. I unwrapped it only to dig through a million of those annoying styrofoam packing things. What did I find at the bottom of the box? A candle. Not just any candle, but a candle that has been sitting in my cupboard for over a year. I smacked my husband playfully on the shoulder, and then he handed me my real present. I unwrapped it, and it was the iPod!!! I have wanted one forever (never had one...I live in the technologically challenged age). He said he got it over a month ago, so I know that he put some real thought into my gift. They are flippin' expensive, though...he went way overboard. I guess with my husband its all or nothing!

Well, I will stop rambling, since it is 3:45 am. Have a great 2008!
