Anna has grown very fond of her daddy. All he has to do is walk in the room and say "monster baby" (one of Trav's current nicknames for her that stuck after her cranky period...it replaced "bobble head" when she finally got control of her neck) and she completely lights up with a great big smile. When it comes time to snuggle, though, she loves her mama. We both have had so much fun watching her grow and change over the past 6 months. I think that both Trav and I have changed just as much as Anna has.Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Happy 1/2 birthday!
Can you believe it? My little Anna is 6 months old today! Wow, how time truly flies. It seems like just yesterday she was a little 4 pound peanut stuck in the NICU. With her great talent for eating, she has grown to a whopping 14 pounds (according to my home scale - her official Dr. appointment is on Monday, so we will see!). She is now eating rice cereal, mixed grain cereal, and all of the stage 1 baby foods except for prunes. Her favorites are sweet potatoes and peaches.
Anna is still a little behind developmentally, if you follow the milestone charts, but she is doing great! She is now rolling over quite easily, both back to belly and belly to back. She wants so badly to sit up on her own, but she doesn't quite have the torso strength to stay put and usually topples over onto her side. We are practicing, though! She LOVES to stand (holding my hands of course) and she locks her legs straight and can stay like that for hours. She loves her jumper, her teether toy, and her stuffed monkey. She also loves to be read to. Her favorite are the Baby Einstein books. She is still sleeping about 10-11 hours at night and she takes 3 naps a day - that is, if you put her in her swing. She loves her swing, and I don't know what I am going to do when she grows out of it!! She has also mastered the art of the "drama queen cry". She turns down the corners of her mouth into a pout, presses her lips together, and cries a closed mouth cry. It's really quite adorable.

Happy birthday, my little Anna banana bug! Your mama and daddy love you!
