Successful party!

I hosted and demonstrated a Stampin' Up party this past Sunday. It was loads of fun...I can't tell you how much I have missed getting together with friends and stamping!! I had a pretty good turnout in my little cramped house - we made it work, though! I chose a date for my party very carefully so that I could use the main SU catalog, the new Occasions Mini catalog, and also so that I could take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration catalog and FREE STAMPS!! The days are counting down for SAB (only until March 17th) so get an order in quick if you want free stamps too!!

Here are the projects I did for stamp club. I prefer a hands on party where I demonstrate the project first and then let everyone make one of each project. Yes, it is a lot more preparation in cutting cardstock/ribbon, etc, but I think that the only way people learn is to do it themselves. I have a great upline to thank (thanks Christy!!) for doing workshops that way!!

On this card, I used the chalkboard technique, inking both the large star and the small stars in white craft ink and then going over the ink with sponge daubers dipped in Stampin' Pastels (chalk). This "sets" the craft ink so that you don't have to heat set it to get it to dry. I think everyone loved this technique!

Stamps: Nursery Necessities, Nursery Letters wheel
Ink: Real Red, Craft White
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Brocade Blue
Accessories: the new poly twill ribbon from the mini catalog, punches, Stampin' Pastels, sponge daubers

This is the card I have posted previously...with some "tweaking". I used the ribbon slide from the new Styled Silver Hodgpodge Hardware (in the mini catalog) on the flower and then the silver eyelets instead of pink brads as before. I think it gives it more character!

This is the scrapbook page I did. Since I was using the white craft ink on the chalkboard card, I utilized Staz-On opaque white ink for the background.

Stamps: Just B, Priceless, Birthday Whimsy
Ink and Cardstock: Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, White, and Black
Accessories: gingham ribbon

I hope you like!!
