I know I'm behind, but at least I am trying to catch up. I thought I better post this before Christmas hits....haha!)
I absolutely adore Halloween. I love that it is a holiday that is totally optional, low stress, and just a whole lot of fun. I love to watch scary movies (ghosts and such, not so much the slasher variety), I love the fun decorations for Halloween, and especially the new fun I am experiencing of seeing Halloween through my child's eyes.
The Halloween "season" never starts for me until I see Thriller, put on by Odyssey Dance Theatre each year. This is the 15th year of the production, and I have seen it for 13 out of those 15 years, sometimes multiple times a year. This year I went with my mom, my friend Mandy and her mom. We were able to get a few photos of the creepy dancers/zombies wandering through the audience before the show.
Creepy! They are always so amazing at keeping in character.
Notice my mom's body language...haha!
Mandy and I with a zombie...his makeup looked amazing!
The next adventure the we enjoyed was a Halloween party that my cute friend Cindy hosted. She loves Halloween even more than I do, and she puts on one hell of a Halloween party! She went all out decorating her garage, stringing up lights, and making cute treats and games for the kids. We played Halloween Bingo, read scary stories by the light of the orange pumpkin lights, and took pictures of all the cute kids in their costumes. Most of us adults dressed up as well.
One of the attempts at getting all of the kids in a picture. Costumes ranged from a corpse bride to a ghost to Little Red Riding Hood. So cute!
Anna decided way back in August that she wanted to be Dorothy for Halloween. Here she is in the cute dress that Grandma Laurie made for her, as well as the cute Toto basket given to her by aunt Tracie.
I was planning on being the Wicked Witch of the West, but Anna vetoed that idea.
"No, Mommy...she MELTS! You have to be Glinda the Good Witch."
Ok, then. I searched high and low to find a Glinda costume. Finally found one online in the nick of time!
On Halloween day, we headed up to Logan to surprise my mom. After all, she made the cute Dorothy costume...she should get to see Anna wearing it! Plus, this is the first Halloween we have spent with my parents since Anna was born. Here she is surprising Grandma at work.
We walked all around BATC to show off our costumes, then we headed home to Grandma and Buppa's. We went trick-or-treating in their subdivision. Anna was happy as a clam to take her Toto (a.k.a. Maggie) with her!
Taking Grandma and Buppa trick-or-treating.
Anna was caught off guard when a robot answered one of the doors. Too cute!
My little Dorothy. Pretty adorable if you ask me!
Glinda and Dorothy
Finally...a little bit of a smile! She's such a stink when it comes to pictures.
Back at Grandma's house counting all of her treasures.
We drove home and it was still early enough to hit a few houses around our neighborhood. Our costumes were a huge hit, especially with our next door neighbor Shawna. She took quite a few pictures. I will have to post those when I get copies. I hope you all had a great Halloween!
