Back from one, off on another...

So I have been too busy to post, but my trip to Georgia was fantastic! Warm, beautiful weather, great gymnastics, and no more horrendous hotel fiascos like our last trip to the south. Briana, Michelle and I even survived sharing our hotel room! This feat was particularly awesome because all 3 of us are pregnant.

The wonderful Ute gymnastics team took a close second behind Georgia (who won their 4th national title in a row). Here are the Utes in action, warming up on bars: The weather was gorgeous, 80 degrees and beautiful most of the trip. In our down time we were able to tour a few historic Georgia mansions (very cool!) and we did a little bit of shopping.

Here is the pink mansion...I don't remember the family name...We had some of the best food while we were in Athens. We tried some "down home southern cooking" - fried green tomatoes, potato cakes, and the best pulled pork sandwich I believe I have ever tasted. The hospitality in Georgia (other than the Georgia gymnasts themselves) was awesome! Yes, mam, my pleasure, mam, etc...we heard those phrases a lot!

We also went to a great little Mexican/South American restaurant with Wyc Cheatham - it was great to see him, and the food was so good! Wyc is a physician who did his fellowship in the PICU at Primary Children's, but now is practicing in South Dakota. He is originally from Georgia so he took his family to UGA for the national championships. He said to say "hi" to everyone at Primary's!

Well, I'm off tomorrow on my next adventure...to NYC with the John girls!! I'm going with my mom, my sister-in-law, my grandma, 3 of my aunts and 4 of my cousins. I have never been to NYC! We have tickets to Wicked (WAHOO!!) and are planning on doing some shopping and eating at some supposedly fantastic restaurants. I hope we have time to see the touristy stuff too (Empire State Building, ground zero, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, etc.) since I have never been and probably won't get back soon. I will update with lots of pictures when I return!
